5 To substantiate JIRA’s basic activities and to expand the scope of activities

(1) Market statistics survey

We surveyed the production, export, import, and domestic market for Medical Imaging Systems (87 survey items) of the statistics participating companies (about 80 companies). We conducted the monthly survey and summarized the results every quarter, half and calendar and fiscal year. We promptly reported the result to the member companies on the JIRA website.

(3) Public relations

In order to widely and effectively publicize JIRA activities, we integrated information as follows:
 - We published “The Data Book: The medical imaging system industry illustrated 2013”. The purpose is to enable the readers to simply and clearly understand the data and to plan medical policy and company strategy.
 - The document "The Topics from Divisions and Committees” is not a mere report of their activities. It covers comprehensively the information to be conveyed to the member companies. For example, it covers the domestic and overseas laws and regulations, national strategies and policies, revision of the reimbursement of medical treatment fees, and market trends. Moreover, we published JIRA Bulletin No. 197 and No. 169 (special issue for our activity report) that covered public relations activities summarized at the time of issuing the bulletin.
 - We published the JIRA Technical Report as a JIRA presentation digest on the occasion of the JSRT Autumn Scientific Convention.
 - We held a press conference on April 12, 2013 at the venue of ITEM and announced the “JIRA Medical Imaging Industry Vision 2020” in a timely manner.
 - Once a month, we published JIRA News and sent it electronically to the member companies.

(4) Training Seminar

We have held the training seminar for inspection technicians to achieve a basic common knowledge and equipment-specific expertise, and we qualified them as technicians with a specified level of knowledge and skills. After qualification, we regularly held a refresher course to maintain their technical capabilities.

Moreover, JIRA was certified as a continuous training organization for sales/rental managers and repair engineers. Since Fiscal 2006, we have cooperated with three organizations – the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (Committee on Electromedical Systems), the Japan Medical-Optical Equipment Industrial Association, and the Japan Industries Association of Physical Therapy Devices, in order to maintain the continuous training. Based on the revision of PAL, we reviewed data every year to make it suitable for JIRA products and promoted medical safety through continuous training.
