5.The total count of imports substantially decreased to 45.2 billion yen (-26 %).
Especially,
- CT 12.9 billion yen (-9%)
- MRI 10.7 billion (-38%)
- Therapeutic systems 4.1 billion yen (-6%)
- Nuclear medicine 2.8 billion yen (-48 %)
- Image processing systems 2.3 billion yen (-23 %)
The diagnostic X-ray systems decreased as follows:
- Cardio & angio 3.0 billion yen (-50 %)
- Mammography 1.1 billion yen (-43 %)
- General-purpose radiography 0.08 billion yen (-71 %)
As a result, the total was 7.1 billion yen (-35%).
6.Summary

The domestic market decreased by 15 % (approximately by 24.2 billion yen) over the same period as the previous year. The production output for the domestic market (obtained by subtracting the exports from the total production output) decreased by 8 % (approximately by 8.4 billion yen). Imports also decreased by 26 % (approximately by 15.9 billion yen).

For the domestic market on an item-by-item basis, many items showed a decrease such that MRI decreased by 32 % (approximately by 8.2 billion yen), Nuclear medicine by 52 % (approximately by 5.0 billion yen), diagnostic X-ray by 10 % (approximately by 4.6 billion yen), CT by 12 % (approximately by 4.2 billion yen) and Related items & accessories by 28 % (approximately by 2.6 billion yen).

The total imports of MRI decreased by 38 % (approximately by 6.6 billion yen). The imports of MRI which is 1.0T or more but not exceeding 1.5T decreased by 56 % (approximately by 8.0 billion yen), whereas those of MRI which is exceeding 1.5T increased by 75 % (approximately by 1.5 billion yen).

The domestic market of Nuclear medicine decreased, mainly because of a drop in PET-CT, by 79 % (approximately by 4.0 billion yen).

Similar with MRI, CT increased in the previous year, whereas the demand level of this year dropped to that of the year before last. In the domestic market, multi-slice CT decreased by 11 % (approximately by 2.8 billion yen) and single-slice CT by 58 % (approximately by 1.7 billion yen). The market composition ratio of single-slice CT decreased from 9 % to 4 %, reflecting the market shift toward high-performance models.

For diagnostic X-ray systems, general-purpose R/F of I.I. (electronic tube digital output) type decreased by 13 % (approximately by 0.7 billion yen), whereas F.P.D (flat panel detector: Planar detector digital output) type increased by 2 % (approximately by 0.1 billion yen). This tendency is particularly evident for cardio and angio, and the market composition ratio of F.P.D. type increased from 87 % to 96 %. On the other hand, the market of Mammography X-ray restored stability from the abrupt increase in the previous year due to the input of a subsidy. On the basis of detector output method, the increase in CR type was remarkable as compared with that in F.P.D type.

For the Related items & accessories, similar to the decrease in MRI and CT, Imager decreased by –37 % (approximately by 1.5 billion yen). On the other hand, contrast medium injector increased by 45 % (approximately by 0.2 billion yen).
